If you haven't heard of one of the latest trends coming from Korea and other parts of Asia, it's "bitten lips" or "popsicle lips". The idea is, pigment the inner-most seam of your lips, and apply barely-there pigment to the rest of your lips.
Simple? Kind of. I tried to get this look with so many products, but regular lipsticks and lip glosses blend into each other in no time FLAT. The look would last for as long as a picture maybe, and that's it. Not to mention the high maintenance look was a pain to reapply and touch up. Until...
Enter Lip Stains!
Naked lips! The Before Picture.
Using a lip stain to color the seam of my lips, this look lasted all day and then some! All I have to do is reapply the balm-style lip gloss I used to compliment it, and completely ignore the highly pigmented lip tint along my seam.
Now that my lips are stained, the color (and the look) stays fresh all day long and then some!
Peripera has Peri's Ink, which is what I used because the stuff feels like nothing is on. I can lick my lips all the live-long day and it won't budge. It feels like I've put a tattoo on my lips, and all I have is my own skin with no product on. So yeah, when it dawned on me that I should be using this kind of product for my popsicle lip look, I felt silly for not thinking of it sooner.
What the full lip stain looks like -
AFTER licking my lips all day and eating lunch!
A very sweet, innocent-yet-sultry look. It draws the eyes to the lips, and the brightness of the center of your lips is a focal point. But it's not vampy at all, or nude, or matte -- which makes it a fun style to play with when I feel like changing up my look.
Have you tried Peripera Peri's Ink Lip Tint, or other lip stains?
How about the popsicle look?
