Skincare. It’s one of the first things that goes by the wayside when life gets crazy. I want to change that. Not just for my skin, which definitely needs more attention, but for myself.
Committing to half an hour (or more?) each week, where I focus on myself, is absolutely essential. While my mask works it’s magic, I want to disconnect from my phone and reconnect with myself. Whether it’s reading a book or listening to calming music with candles lit, I need some me-time to recharge.
Afterward, let's talk about what we did! Whether it was a DIY facial or a new K-Beauty skincare product, share what worked, what felt soothing, and pass on tips to others looking to take care of their skin. Message me on Twitter (I'm @blue_scandal, and yes I hate the underscore too) or find me on Facebook.
Want to join me in this renewing, revamping of self? You will absolutely LOVE yourself for it.
All you need is:
At least half an hour of no distractions
That means turning off your mobile device or computer. For 30 whole minutes!* Maybe this is Sunday, or maybe this is on another day of the week, but it's just a sliver of time where you'll be able to re-center and recharge.
Some or all of the following:
A good book
A sketch pad and pencils
Colored pencils and a coloring book
A bonzai tree and clippers
A soft pillow
ANYTHING that helps you relax!
This could include cleanser, nourishing balm or oil, pore purifier, toner, essence, serum, ampoule, emulsion, sheet mask, moisturizer - maybe a few products, maybe everything under the sun! Skincare is personal, and your skin’s needs are different from someone else’s.
To look at yourself, barefaced. No makeup. Just you. It’s time to learn to love yourself, even without your brows filled in.
You're Worth It
I hope you'll find a little time to join me each week!
I’ll share the products I used from the week before, as well as the relaxing, tension-easing activities I tried. I hope you share yours, too!
Ready for next week! Let's do this, because
I don’t think anyone ever looked back and said,
“I wish I hadn’t taken such good care of my skin.”
So let's get started! And as always...
*Note: If you’re a mom, finding even 30 minutes to yourself can be so challenging. It’s worth it, I promise! Try finding a little pocket of time after the kids are asleep and before you tackle dishes or chores, or finding someone special in their lives to take them to the park, or out for a nature walk during the day. The hardest part is getting started!
